Introducing the Ginger

 Hello book lovers! I have been reading and discussing books for years so today I have decided it is time for me to create a blog and discuss them with a wider audience. Every Tuesday, including today, I will review a book of my choosing. Typically, I will review a book to illustrate a larger theme that is especially prominent within the book I am reading, but also it will just be a simple book review and primarily about the general enjoyability of it. The genre I like the most is the suspense thriller genre, delving here and there into psychological thrillers and horror. I won't turn down a fantasy or SciFi novel though. I like myself some Tolkien obviously. In other words, a good book is a good book so I can handle crossing my preferred genres to read a good book. My favorite author is Dean Koontz. There will be a lot of reviews of his books on my blog. I don't love all of his books, but I will still review what I believe to be his lesser novels to explain where I think he went wrong. Additionally, this blog is a platform for me to share with you all some of my own writings. If I get published, you all will be the first to know about my book's release. Soon I shall be releasing one of my short stories to give you all a taste of my writing style and see what interest there is from you all in reading any more of my attempts at fiction. I like to write about the strange and unexplainable. I like to write single scene short stories. In other words, I like to take a strange situation and tell its story. I hope you all enjoy my writing journey and book reviews!

The "Dragon Tears" Antagonist

  Have you ever watched a movie or read a book where something about the villain just felt downright intimidating? I know have. I felt it when I watched "Avengers: Infinity War;" I also felt it when I watched "Silence of the Lambs." But focusing in on the world of the books though, I felt it when I read Dean Koontz's novel "Dragon Tears."  I would argue that to achieve the effect of making people see the villain as intimidating depends almost entirely on how you introduce that villain. In "Avengers: Infinity War," Thanos is introduced by him mascaraing a bunch of innocent people, leveling the Hulk, and rendering Thor helpless. It didn't seem hard for Thanos either; it was easy. The next time you see Thanos you take him seriously; you find him intimidating. In the same way Koontz, introduces a villain like no other. A homeless man is hiding from a cloaked vagrant.
